Soldering's a snap once you've learned the knack of how to do it properly. With all my 1/8 stuff I use EC5 connectors and with my 1/10 rc's my preferred method is to plug the esc directly into the lipos as most of my lipos are the internal bullet plug style. In the past I've had great success using Power Poles. In my mind, for 1/10 scale, Power Poles are perfect when a connector is needed. Never ever had one fail or even heat up. I don't know if they'd hold up to a 9000kv motor, but I've run a 6.5t motor on Power Poles with no troubles at all.
