RE: Ever do something dumb?
When I was a teenager I traded my motorcycle (dirt bike) for a large R/C plane. Took it out to a field near my home and took to the air, without any kind of instruction or experience whatsoever. I actually did pretty good and flew around a bit, but I destroyed it trying to land. That really sucked.
About 2 years ago I'd been wanting to get my wife into R/C so we took out my new 3905 E-Maxx and Slash w/VXL. We went to a big field with some large mounds of dirt to run them. Well my wife drove the E-Maxx and was having a blast, driving over the dirt hills and such. She kept saying how fun it was. I was driving the Slash and had my back turned to her and all of the sudden hear her yell out "Oh #$&%!. I turn around and can't see the E-Maxx, but see water being thrown into the air from the top of one of these mounds. It turns out there was a hole large enough to swallow an E-Maxx completely filled with water up there. I wasn't worried since the E-Maxx is waterproof but I guess I should have told my wife that little fact lol. Before I could say anything she ran up there to save the truck...... and sunk. It was watery mud and she sunk up to her thighs. I tried to get to her and got within about ten feet of her but didn't realize where I was about to step was also mud because it was covered with straw. I sunk up to my thighs as well, only I was in really thick mud. My Wife threw the E-Maxx out and then managed to crawl out herself. It took a while and it took every bit of strength I had to get myself out of that mud. For a minute I thought I was going to have to have my wife tie a rope to my truck and pull me out. When it was all over with we were both exhausted and we were covered in mud, as well as the interior of my truck, but we were laughing about it. It was scary when it happened but afterwards it was really funny lol.
