TOM, you make good points. If I might add Prop selection has a lot to do with the flight
of an airplane. As an example my GP little Toni has a OS 110 4 stroke in it with a 12x12 apc.
It scoots along at 115 mph with that prop but has no vertical to speak of, not much thrust
but good speed. If I put a 16x6 on it, I would have much more thrust and vertical but would be much
slower. As it is an F1 pylon racer from the 50's, my prop selection is valid. Is it a 3D plane, no,, so I
am not concerned about thrust but more so prop air speed. Prop air speed = rpm x pitch / 1056 (static)
I know you know this but the OP might get something from it.
