More start-up issues
Hi All,
I just bought a HSP nitro 1/8 scale monster truck a 21 size nitro. I want to do a break in so I was going about it the other weekend.
I didn't adjust the needles, I just primed it and pull started it and I started up relatively easily. I went through approx 2/3 of a tank totally so far.
It was not very stable at first, I was just trying to go to from a fast idle to 1/8-1/4 throttle intervals to get it running stable a bit. I did notice it got noticeably more stable and I didn't adjust the high speed needle much but was trying to adjust it "slightly" as it had a tendact to die or miss as I tried 1/2 throttle (maybe it was too lean). Since I didn't have a temp gauge, I would let it run for about 2 minutes intervals and would stop it afterwards as it looked to be getting a little hot. I have now already brushed up again on proper break-in procedure and have a temp gauge so break-in should be a wizz.
Yesterday I try to start it, all charged up .. glow heater ok, glow plug ok, try priming it and start pulling. Nothing ... It seems as though there was no ignition, or that it was not getting any fuel at all. It did get relatively cold in the garage since I started it last time.
Should I try to make it richer and / or somehow make sure it is properly or better primed ? Not that easy to get fuel as it has a air filter ty strapped on ..
Thanks
