Default RE: Any WINTER {SNOW} fliers?

We got 16-18" in just four hours two nights ago here in lower NY. I hit the field this morning - with a shovel. Good thing, too, cause the entire field was 18" deep. I dug out a 15x15' "basecamp" and went flying. No wind, and 29 deg F, so great conditions. Flew my 78" Texas Hurricane with an XYZ 50cc - only the second flying session for this plane, and I'm very happy. The plane was very responsive, and the engine has good power. Love taking off and landing on snow! Only problem - the snow's so deep and still compactable, so if you bounce a take-off or landing you'll end up nosing-in, which is just what I did on one landing. Bent the ski and the aluminum LG, though it's fixable. I'll be reinforcing those skis.

Anyone who's not flying cause of the snow - buy some skis and a Raydiowarm and get out there - it's awesome. Sorry about the darkness of the pics - can't adjust for brightness on my Blackberry.
