I built a patriot about 5 years ago, a fair amount of sanding, but over all a strait forward kit.
One thing I remember was the sheeting around the tail you need to wet the balsa sheeting before you apply. From info i got from others, Retracts are nice but not required for good speed.
I will try to hunt up my manual if you still need it. I have never flown mine due to canabalizing engine and radio for other projects etc. mine is still just a hanger queen.
