well an F4 has a glide slope of a brick. engines make that thing fly. the wings are there purley
for stabillity & directional control. they produce very low lift. & speaking of bricks, put a big enough
engine on a brick and it'll fly too. so in this case anyways, its not about the wings.
That is very correct. No argue about that. That is why I mentioned subsonic speeds. The F-4 performed its valuable assets in supersonic speeds. It was designed to carry and deliver a substancial payload of improoved weaponry of its era. In subsonic speeds it was a brick to fly but nevertheless it wrote history as a weapon platform not for its agility neither for its excellent flying characteristics; but for its ability to deliver a great deal of punishment to its foes.
