I use a separate battery for the D&Ls on my B-25, too. Cheap insurance and the extra weight in the nose is nice too.
Mine for the Staggerwing are off to Mitch in the next couple of days.
I had looked pretty carefully at your video and pics, so w/ your description I feeel good about it.
