Good morning Gene and Dick, the sun is up, the birds are singing and my cat's are driving me nuts!!
The DX 7 makes me as crazy as these cats!! There is a step in there program that I always forget and it kicks my butt. Every time I have it locked into my memory I seem to forget it by the time I program another DX 7. This time I'm printing out that page ATV posted and hanging it on my shop wall.
I have used a couple of the Expert on board glow drivers, that's the only one I have used. My big problem with them is they don't work well if they are mounted too far away from the engine/glow plug. I gave up on them. More trouble then they are worth for me. I spend the time tuning the engine but when someone asks me to install one for them I went back to my home made unit, just a micro switch connected to a battery and the glow plug. The micro switch is next to the throttle servo and I make up a cam on the throttle arm that turns the switch on and off at a set point. Really old school but it is fool proof. And cheap!! You know how much I like cheap!!
