Personally i run a pair of 2 cell A123 batteries through a spektrum AR9100 Rx w/o any regulators. I top them off every other flight and have averaged about 250mah per flight. I shunned off Nimh's an Nicd's after having 3 brand new batteries drop cells in flight within the first 12 flights with each of them.
And I tried two A123s (through a Smart Fly) and had one go bad within six months. I would use an extension cord but I can't find one long enough.
