That's what I'm running but the batteries are the newer Eneloop 2000 mAh AA NMH cells, no problems at all using 4 cell packs on 36 mhz JR radio & Futaba 2.4.

However there is a thread kicking about here in the jets forum which quotes the internal resistance of cells & the Eneloop cells have quite a high internal resistance so they may have a large voltage drop at VERY high servo currents. Read the thread it & make up your mind. But like I said, I have had no problems.
