Of course, Silent didnt get into the detail of needing either 3 Leaders as 'lunch buddies',
that or needing to be 'lunch buddies' with your DVP, to become a Leader Member.
From the LM application:
REFERENCES
These three (3) references must be properly filled in and signed by three (3) current AMA Leader Members. (If Leader Members are
unavailable, three (3) Open Members and an endorsement by a District Vice President or Associate Vice President may be
substituted.)
In either case the DVP or an AVP must approve the application. I see no reference to "lunch buddies" or a requirement for your references to be buddies with the DVP or AVP.
