Default RE: Press Release from AMA - Update on Upcoming FAA regulation changes

Quote from earlier post from Dave - AMA President

My column outlines the next phase of our
strategy which is to encourage our members to reach out to their elected
representatives and make them aware of all the positive aspects of model
aviation - the family recreational value, the education value modeling
provides as a stepping stone to careers in aviation, etc. And we want to
talk about the potential negative economic impact overly restrictive rules
may have on the industry that supports what we do. This part of the campaign
was designed to paint a positive picture of model aviation to our
representatives and be conducted before the release of the NPRM but after
the new congress took office;

Later tonight (After work & dinner) I will start a thread dedicated to sample letters and communications to help folks save time with this step.....I will start this to help us gather our letters and communications in one place so we can respond to Dave's "call to action".....and do so in a consistent and beneficial manner.

We don't want to submit 100,000 "Form letters" but sample documents and communications can help everyone save time as we can also list and keep track of the elected officials contact information and such, which can be time consuming for the busy modelers to find......etc...

This is a very important step in our campaign so please, I urge every modeler, ever future modler....to act!

At the point Dave calls us to action on this part it is imperative everyone act on this, that we show a large response as every elected official has alot on the table these days......War on terror, economy, health care, etc.....

As a group we can make an impact....and ensure our kids and their kids can enjoy the hobby as we have, for another 75 years!'
