Default RE: Press Release from AMA - Update on Upcoming FAA regulation changes

The AMA, that's all of us, have kept this hobby alive. Without the AMA, every hobby manufacturer and shop would close. Without the AMA the next hair-brained legislation would ban everything we do and stop all flying. Without the AMA no one would protect our frequency uses. Now go ask yourself.... what have you done for the AMA lately? How have you supported and cared for the perpetuation of our hobby?

Is it perfect? No... it's us. Every look at the guys in charge? They look to by the age of the "old school" fliers... balsa whittlers who moved to free flight and were original R/C aviators. They came on board when flying was novel and exciting. Its not novel any longer and these guys are passing on... who is picking up where they left off? Who is taking over the care and protection of our hobby? Will it be the guys that came on board well into the R/C years? After ARFs? How about you... when will you pick up the reigns?

Most the guys that post here are dedicated AMA haters... too bad, because if they get there way... the hobby is dead. I've said it before and I'll post it every time I see this tripe... If you don't like the AMA... change it or shut your trap! Quit whining about where you fly and that you don't need the AMA's insurance. Who will manufacture or sell R/C stuff without the support of AMA to bring 140,000 plus hobbyist's together? Do you really think Horizion or Great Planes would build equipment for a bunch of guys flying in their back yard with no organized association?

Some of you guys need to "GET OVER IT" - It's not all just about you. If you don't like the current structure, change it by joining and voting. It worked in District X just this year... I will work in your district if you want it to.
