Hi David,

please think about Lesoanl Platinum, its the same way like BVM metal kote, but you can use a 2 pack primer as an undercoat, easy to apply, easy to sand. no clear coating necessary. its fuel proof and looks very good...

Ralle,

I have your excellent article on "The Scale Metal Finish" printed in Jet Power from 2008 in my archives. The problem is getting Lesonal in the USA(I've only found one supplier) & the cost. It was 220 Euro per litre 3 years ago, I'd hate to think what it is now[sm=drowning.gif]. The horrible Dollar/Euro exchange rate currently, will, I think, make it prohibitively expensive!

From the photos I've found of the painted F-100's, my objective shouldn't be to make the jet look like bare metal though, but instead should actually look painted, completely uniform in coloring, like these two. There were actually very few later date Huns that were bare metal! The Thunderbirds being the obvious exception.
