Hi Brad,
The plane flies well with the LE and TE flaps extended. Makes T/O and landing easier. It does need a slight amount of up trim compared to when the flaps are up (I'll program that into my TX before my next flights). Helps slow the aircraft allowing power on approaches.
The Turnigy B3656 1800kv motor is from Hobbyking and was about $19. It also has a pair of heat sinks JB welded on for cooling. It was built using a Freewing fan as an experiment (to see how cheap a working fan can be built). Now HK sells a complete 90mm freewing fan and motor cheaper than I built this one for. It is a great combination and I'm flying one in my F-86.
