ORIGINAL: SavagedXXL
Yeah, the 4.6 is a .28 engine, and it very solid engine. It is way stronger than the Nitrostar 25.
I may have been wrong when I said only a bit stronger, but here's probably why:

I swapped out the NitroStar 25 in my Savage with a 30VG about the same time the 26 went in my OFNA buggy, so the NitroStar went in the buggy. I have another OFNA buggy with the Force 28 in it. Both buggies then seemed to have very similiar performance with the Force 28 having a slight edge over the Nitro-Star.

It really surprised me how well the NitroStar performed in a light buggy after being used it in the Savage.

Now, had I installed a Force 28 in my Savage and compared it to the NitroStar 25, it wouldn't surpise me to notice much more of a difference as the Savage is a much heavier vehicle than a buggy and having more power might show up more significantly.

By the way, as I mentioned, the crank-pin on my Force 26 broke and as I blame myself for abuse due to experimenting with head shims and running too hard before being warmed up during testing, the fact is a broken crank-pin is rather commonly reported in the OFNA forums. On the other hand, my Force 28 has had a lot of use, never needs much carb re-tweaking, and still runs like new....er...."new" as in "after break-in".
