the tailcone does not change anything because the outer pipe has the 2 clips pre set from the factory. the problem is you have to pull the inner thrust tube very close to the outer edge of the carbon bell. my first flash i used 1/8th rivits and the holes were almost to the edge of the thrust tube. on my ultra flash i used 2-56 machine screws with a much smaller hole and attached the screws with blind nuts turned upside down on the carbon bell mouth. after i tightened the screws i put a drop of CA on each blind nut to hold to the carbon. with this set up my thrust tube only goes into the bell mouth about 1/8th'' and my space at the tail is 7.5mmas per instructions.
