Sunfly, I hope I get lots of fun out of this too. I know that the build was great fun. I recognize that scheme from the side of the box. Ithought long and hard about it before deciding I didn't have the covering skills to make both sides look equal and went for something slightly easier to cut my teeth on.



I'm proud to say that today I finally had the break in the weather (wind)I have been waiting for. Had a few hours after sunrise to get to the field get setup and knock out a quick maiden flight. After start up, true to form that old HB .61 started pulling the plane around, but not wanting to miss this rare break in the high winds I worked with it. In hind sight I should have spent more time tuning at home, but you know how things go......gotta fly it fever set in....... on take off roll I had a slight veer to the right, but thought I had plenty of room, just before the grass on the side of the runway I pulled up, but a slight stumble in the engine left me with too little speed to rotate, so hard left the rudder went. As the plane turned, it rotated and suddenly I was at 1 ft altitude with full left rudder and full up elevator.....well a quick head level roll and the maiden flight was on track! After my heart slowed down and knees stopped knocking, 3 or 4 clicks left aileron and 1 click up elevator and I could have set the radio down! Never had an ARF do that! That HB drug me around the sky fast at 1/2 throttle. Wide open, it was work to stay ahead of the plane. I like it! Decided against the flap and instead went for the safe landing...the wheels on the bottom kind....back to the pitswhere there was some questions about rolling that close to the ground....no one believes it wasn't on purpose. All say the landing was pro level. All credit for the landing goes to the plane! Before I could re-fuel the winds picked up and everyone headed home. In my rush to fly, I forgot the camera, I'll make up for that soon. The local airshow and an anniversary are going to eat up this weekend, Have to treat the wife good, I need another kit!
