RE: JR DS 8231 for ailerons?
The 8231 should be fine, and in fact should be better than the 8411 for a number of reasons. It's a nylon gear servo, which is better for weight and precision over the metal gears not to mention cost of replacement and wear from use. It puts out roughly 113oz" of torque on 6V which should be enough for ailerons on a pattern airplane.
