RE: Meister 1/5 scale P-47
Gear update. We smoked a gear door servo at Toledo and this has taught us that one needs to use at least a mid range digital servo on them. They will be more durable. We have replaced the inexpensive Hitec digitals with the better DS5645s. While attempting to reprogram the system, we ran into problems. She wouldn't take. After some diagnostics by isolating the system, we found that we had a bad servo on the air valve for the tail gear. It was sending some feedback apparently. After replacing it with a new DS821, we had no issues with the programer. All is functioning perfectly again.
Down & Locked is working on producing servo extensions with filters in them to prevent this from being an issue in the future. They already have a level of protection on the circuit board, but the filter on the extensions will provide another level of protection against even the dirtiest of servos, till it can be replaced.
