Default RE: Spektrum UM Rx/Servo cost vs BNF model cost

ORIGINAL: tarsier

Can anyone explain why it is cheaper to purchase a Parkzone BNF UM model to raid for Rx, servos, and motor, then throw away the model body as compared to purchasing the individual parts? It seems like the model is free and the components discounted when purchasing the BNF, even though it surely has higher packaging, materials, and shipping costs.
Just the way things work what with individual packaging, shipping, stocking etc. Try buying all the parts for anything be it a dish washer, lawn mower, car or whatever and the price of all the parts combined is substantially more than the complete unit.
