I'll pipe in here and expand on what he actually has now. (just found his post)

RDS8000 radio, plus servos
a fedgling electric plane (about 52" wingspan)
TT.25 glow engine (unknown if it will start yet) donated
.25 size uglystick clone arf, also donated
On loan from me (dad) all necessary support equipment to operate a glow engines.

I think the uglystick might be a good choice except that it is so small and might be twitchy.

Would love to get him something cheap in the .60 size range including the engine. (maybe if he cleaned his room and did chores to earn the $)
