ive been using a 995 in my 1/5 for the throttle/brake and it has held up quite nicely and you have to understand the braking system is pulling 3 calipers down onto 2 fiberglass pads and we are talking about a huge heavy truck that hauls *****. and i also ran one in an evader and it connected perfect to the horn in the evader. so i say for $18 bucks try it and see. or heck for $7 you can get a 995 on ebay. only problem is it will take 3 weeks on a slow boat from china.
