"without regard to rather this was or was not a rip off of Darkith's work" does anyone have info on some sort of follow on production of RCCommand's battle system by anyone? Perhaps Darkith could reclaim it.
This is not to start a cat fight so let's not get into the weeds. i sort of liked a couple of features of the RC Command unit such as the modded "apple" and an attractive price for a basic system, so continuation, with appropriate recondition for the the inventor, would be a good thing IMHO.
Back to the original question:
I'm sure most of us here on this forum do not know much about why or how R C Command went MIA. Most of us have moved on now.
Anyone who has a working unit could reverse engineer the curcit board, but the programing would be less strait forward to reproduce.
Patent infrengment issues would only come out if someone claimed them, and then would be only apercent of the profit gained.
So... go for it. Find a working unit and reproduce it. If your sales go way up just be ready to pay the original designer some money.
If it flops, I'm sure the origional designer will leave you alone.
Also... those dudes back then wore sandels into battle, not boots. Don't let those guys kid you, only wimps wore boots into battle back then.
