Default RE: BLIND NUTS DRIVING ME NUTS

ORIGINAL: DMENACE

Hi Fellows

Need some help here. I´m having a hard time trying to remove the blind nuts from the firewall of my Hangar 9 P47 RazorbacK, the powerplant is a DLE30 and the mounting holes are to close to the blind nuts already on the wall. Did try the tapping but they just are very well glue I guess.

Any other idea besides using TNT are wellcome.

Best Regards,

Daniel
Using a soldering iron....apply the iron tip to the blind nut from the front. Hold it there for about 1-2 minutes. This will heat and soften the epoxy that holds the nut in. Remove iron, then immediately screw in the srew that goes into the nut about a quarter of the way, and tap with a hammer or weapon of choice. Should pop right out.

This tips was given to me by RCken a few years ago, and has ALWAYS worked flawlessly.
