Megatech Skyliner
Good advice here on Megatech products. I tried flying the gas version that was bought by a guy at work. He got it through the "Skymall" catalog that you get on airliners so he could fly with me. Anyway. Its fuse is made of thick plastic with a really cheap foam wing. The wing cord is too short as well as the span. CG was an afterthought. This plane is not built to fly and if it does get airborne, it flies like a drunk squirrel that has fallen out of a tree.
Janet,
Have you looked into the Kyosho Cessna 180? I just bought one this Spring and really like it. It goes together well and takes one standard and one micro servo. The motor isn't that gutsy but is good for now. It takes hand launching well and uses a standard 6 or 7 cell pack. Tower has them on sale. I think the combo will get you into the same price range as the Megatech, but you'll have a plane that will fly.
Best wishes in shopping for a plane,
Scott
