I use Sig Koverall on larger planes.

Similar application techniques to silk or tissue (apply & seal with dope, not an iron on)
but once applied you heat shrink it like a film.

It's a type of polyester I believe, similar to modern, full size aircraft covering.

After doping you put on primer then whatever paint you prefer.

The open areas on this jet are covered in Koverall, primed then painted. - John.
