I added basswood stringers (longerons) to my fuselage tail section, laminated them to the inside of the stock balsa peices.
This with the addition of 1/4'' sq. zig-zag bracing added strength without too much weight.

The fuselage bracing, was this basswood as well. I agree w/the addition of laminated basswood longerons, however I believe I will go from front of fuselage longeron to the tail. I have seen this mod else where and got the impression, was great for strength and added a more stable tail section to the design. Looks like the kit since is made up of all balsa is a tab lite in the butt for a plane this size! I do not want to go overboard with added weight, but I do agree the kit, as kitted, does benefit from the addition of some basswood and or lite-ply. The addition of the plained engine w/the weight of it and the mods, should result in a well balanced weight distribution and stable flyer! @ least thats the idea.
