hmmm I use that configuration with my 60 size P51, that's the way the manual says it should be done, my P51 has a .91 engine on it and never had any problem at all, that's why I sked you if you were following the manual, there you can see that they clearly estate that you must not drill the holes all the way through the ailerons. anyways, you'll do whatever you want to. just make sure the back plates sit even on the aileron, otherwise, it would come loose with vibration.
