Default RE: APC prop performance tale...

ORIGINAL: PatternPilot

Just like FOD in a jet engine...
FOOD in a jet engine! Oh, you said FOD! I never had much in the way of a FOD issue, but those danged CF700s sure did not like turbulence above FL370, and the relight envelope was well below that !

Back to the props, at the field last week I mentioned to one of the guys that I needed to change the prop (an ever so slight nich along the tip side, APC 11x7). He laughed and said some of the guys will fly em with one side 1/4" shorter than the other or all nicked and beat to heck. I was like what ! I guess you can get away with it but like you guys noticed (Andy and Chris) you can really start to feel/see the performance difference.

I've got the gear issues worked out Chris, they go uppy up and downy down real nice now. I just need to adjust the offset in the wings and she'll be ready; I'm going to fire up the Kraft tomorrow. See you in two weeks Buddy (yeah, you nailed it onthat work stuff too). Andy, if you make it up to the Classic I'll have a single stick Pro-Line Comp 6 with an XPS 2.4 module that you can put your paws on if you want (not sure if I'll have airplane for it, but just for the nostalgia).
