Default RE: Black Magic VF3 Build Thread

To all of those interested in the VF3, I have gotten in contact with the individual that bought the rights/electronic files and molds for the VF3. His name is Rick. I have started building a VF3 that I have had for a few years and hope to have it finished shortly. I plan to post some progress photos and Rick has allowed me to mention his company website on the thread. He should have an article or advertisement in the next NSRCA K Factor.

In the short time I have dealt with Rick he has been very responsive. I am sure he wants to provide service to those that need VF3 parts or kits. As I mentioned, he is an airline pilot so if you e-mail him thru the company website, it may be a day or two before he contacts you but he has never failed to contact me as soon as he can. The website is: www.midatlanticairframes.com.

I have included couple of photos of my VF3. The entire fuse (with the belly pan, canopy, cowling and chin cowl taped on) is 1 lb 15 oz. I has all of the internal stuff in it (wing and stab tube) but not the rudder or throttle servo mounts. My hope is to have it ready to glass next week. Don't know if I can keep it as light as Deans but we will see. I have taken what all of those who posted tips on the construction of the model to heart and carefully selected balsa so we shall see. Plan to glass and paint the fuse and film cover the flying surfaces.
