Default RE: Black Magic VF3 Build Thread

Hey Ed,

If you have just average building skills you can build this plane light. The big killer with this plane or any other pattern plane is too much paint. I have now painted three VF3's and my first one was a problem because of too much paint and they become tail heavy. I was a terrible painter and Mike and Dean can vouch for that, but I finally got the hang of it and my paint jobs look nice and they are light. Just remember to use as little paint as possible and the weights will come out right. I'm can't remember if this thread has the paint and glassing tips on it or if the old V2 thread has them, but if you follow the suggestions that are posted on this website you won't go wrong. Example the latest VF3 I painted for my son Chris came out at 10lbs 6oz ready to fly which surprised the hell out of me. Happy building

Larry
