DarZeelon,
Yes I figure I didn't properly break in the engine but what do I do from here? Am I SOS with this engine now?
Thanks
Garfield,
What I suggest is that you remove the engine from your model and mount it in a test-stand to do a proper break-in.
It does not have to be an expensive proprietary test-stand per say. It can be a piece of 2x4", with a notch for the crankcase and holes properly placed for four mounting bolts.
But there are some [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/E-z-Just-Engine-Test-Stand-7-circa-1960s-/220789078422?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DS IC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BF ICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D230612625985%26ps% 3D63%26clkid%3D158988239543439900#ht_500wt_1156]inexpensive ones[/link] too everywhere. Just search.
Follow the break-in thread!
The all-synthetic lube fuel just got to go. You need a lot of castor oil to break-in this engine type. There are no shortcuts!
Don't forget the heat-gun (and the electrical power socket to run it), so you can get the engine to turn over, so it can start.
Did you read the thread yet???
After the break-in is done, adjust the engine on the stand, for a perfect transition and not too lean.
Only after this is done, would it be time to mount the engine in your model.
The customary fuel-tank for an engine this size, would be 10 ounces, or an 8 ounce bladder-tank.
