Briefly back to the original topic, it looks like the brand of switch I am using (EMS) is causing the issue. I have had good luck with these switches in the past but haven't used them in this capacity yet. I've tried three different switches and they all freeze up the servo after about a day or so of use. I grabbed another brand and it looks like the problem is solved permanently.
