depron is foam, similar to what hamburgar meat is usually packaged in.... it should be strong enough if you use some type of reinforcing tape, carbon fiber or if you tape on a carbon fiber rod or fiberglass rod, the guys that build foamie airplanes use that stuff all the time, you might want to post the question at rcgroups.com in the foamies forum...
