RE: Dave Brown Ilusion
The Tipo 750
The photos show my Tipo 750 originally built by Dick hanson (the creator) somewhere around 1982/83 and recently painted and finished by Dave Guerin. The model is finished similar to Dave Brown's original, fiffering in the explicit wingtip and bottom of wing scheme...but pretty close. The model is powered by a YS .60 short stroke (round head) and weighs just over 8 pounds.
The model was test flown the Friday before the Chicagoland Classic Pattern Championships (see attached PDF) and after a few flights that it is a really terrific model, particularly rolling manuevers. After the contest flew most of the P-11 sequence and decided that I would fly it the following weekend for the FVAC pattern contest.
P-11- I flew the Tipo in 2/4 rounds and had a ball. Understand that the plane flies 100+ mph, is very load (APC 11 x 9 and Hatori pipe) and is just about impossible to keep it in the box! Snaps...well, a work in progress.
30 years of progress...Dave Snow's Spark and the Tiporare.
