I would like to use an A123 battery for my K-80's ECU power but Barry has told me that the K-80 ECU requires 7.4v (2 cell lipo) which makes a 6.6v (2 cell) A123 too small and the 9.9v (3 cell) A123 too much. I have looked for some kind of voltage requlator that would reduce the 9.9v to the correct 7.4v but have not been successful in finding anything that would work. Short of custom building a device, does anyone have a suggestion or know of something that would solve this problem? Thanks
No issue using 6.6V LiFe (A123) battery with the Xicoy ECU. Low voltage on this engine is 6V and LiFe packs maintain 6.6V throughout the discharge cycle.
Feel free to use the 6.6V A123 pack!
I would assume this might be a problem when running kero start that the burner requires 7.0v to 7.4v.
