I used a power 110 on 10s 4000 mAh. I'm flying a 13.5x13 three blade prop. It's got scads of power and speed. I did modify mine with flaps. It slows down fairly well for landing in spite of the extra weight. I did have to move the main batteries back and put my receiver batteries in the tail to get it to balance right. It's a sweet flying plane. It would be a kick to fly in the real one. I managed to get about 10 hours of stick time in T-37's back in the day. I've got photos and a video posted upstream somewhere on this thread. I would second the ultracote suggestion, but it's most likely personal preference.
