Some more shots of my VF3 build. The first photos are of the recess I create for the 1/64th ply that goes on top and bottom of the stab to conceal the hinges. The next few photos are of the stabs. The photos of the "T" shaped device is a little plywood device I made to sand a small recess in the stab to accept the 1/64" ply piece that goes on top and bottom of the stab to conceal the hinges. It is just made of 1/8" lite ply. I glued a vertical piece on the bottom to act as a guide that rides along the trailing edge of the surface and a vertical piece on top that I use a a hand hold. On one side of the bottom I attach a piece of 100 grit sandpaper about 1/4 to 3/8" wide to sand the recess into the flying surface.

The photos of the stab show the 1/64" ply pieces that are glued to the flying surface and they also show the radiused leading edge of the elevator. The end shot is of the stab and elevator to give perspective of how the hinged surface looks when mated to the flying surface. I will do the same for the ailerons and rudder.
