5 lb 8 oz. I have a dummy engine on my model but it is home made from cylinder shaped chunks of balsa with hacksaw cuts for the fins. Looks not too bad painted up.

Fibre Glass Specialties have three different cowls to suit this kit. One to convert to super cub, the standard one , and a J3 one with a dummy engine. I haven't seen their cowl so can't comment on how they look.
