I guess i need to take a lot closer look at the strut/stuffing tube when i get back home.  I have never seen that part on my boat, at all.  Does that collar go part of the way into the stuffing tube at the strut, or is the full amount of that collar, look sto be 3-5mm, stick out the back of the strut/stuffing tube?
