Default RE: When does the nevousness stop?

Ooooh.. yeah. Hey, I've done that a few times during my beginner days (fly over the pits by mistake). Folks did indeed duck-and-cover.

I was flying my Tiger 60 one day when a fellow RC'er was flying whatever he was flying went inverted and his canope fell off followed immediately by his battery. The plane augered straight in, and I mean vertically, about 10 feet from where we were all standing. There was a bench-chair next to the frequency pin board where two observers were seated.. the plane hit half way between them and the flight line, right behind me and right in front of them. It all happened so fast that the pilot was able to yell something unintelligible (I'm sure it was a really nasty swear word) just as it hit the ground. That was quite a show for the observers... and we all had to make a quick visit to the porta-potty. Now that will make EVERYONE a bit nervous!!!
