Welcome to life. Anyway, regarding learning and crashes:

I've only ever flown a micro heli, but I crashed that enough to go through a few blades, a new tail fin, and a new canopy.

My first time driving a RC car I slammed into a wall so hard I snapped the top of the steering servo right off. Not to mention all the later crashes.

And the first time I took my one and only boat out there was nothing to crash into aside from seaweed, but when I brought it back to shore an overzealous dog ran up and bit through the plastic hull.

The dog came out of nowhere, but some of the other crashes could have been avoided (or their severity reduced) if I'd sought out an instructor rather than insisting on learning the hard way. Good luck and enjoy the fun and excitement of your new hobby!
