Default RE: Repairing a Jetcat ECU

I Dont know what it is, but there is something about turbines that so many people are scared about, if it hic-ups at all you get "have to send it back to the manufacturer for repair" and not only the turbine gets sent back but ecu, pumps, valves everything, and then when they get the bill "replaced glow plug"!! A lot of time and money could have been saved if you checked the thing yourself.

Turbine manufacturers laugh all the way to the bank at the "cant touch it" attitude in the Jet world.

An ECU at the end of the day is a piece of electronics, and unless it is something like the microprocessor it can be fixed by anybody who has the electronic knowledge to find the fault, dos'nt have to be a Man from Jetcat.

I fixed an ECU myself a few years ago by replacing a faulty mosfet and a few burnt tracks, same as I have fixed Transmitters, receivers, speed controllers, servos, if it works again then it is fixed simple as that, same as the guy down the road who fixes your Sony TV it is either fixed or it is'nt, saying you are taking a big risk not getting it fixed by the Manuf is crap. Every TV repair man, car mechanic etc would be out of business.
