RE: Neptune ARF advice on 1st seaplane? Construction tips?
I had a lot of fun breaking in my new engine today. NOT!
I'm one of those who constructs the airplane then breaks in the motor on the plane. It's a messy way of doing it but it works, Windex and paper towels is cheap. My whole pant leg was wet with spent glow after running 4 tanks of fuel, and again the bee's were attracted to the sound of prop wash, and persisted to commit suicide by flying into my prop!
I'm putting on the decals now and still have to do the control throws except for the throttle, and I still yet to do the ballance. I'll take some pictures when I'm done.
I got the slight down and right angle on the engine the way I want it. On the V1 the engine Pod and firewall is very straight and I remembered that I was constantly on the rudder to keep it going straight until I trimmed her out. I figure if I put the angles on the engine like I do with my land planes I will need less rudder and nose down trim.
