My first airplane with flaps was the W.M. Giant P-51 Mustang. Only thing I would add is to not try to do a full power take off with flaps. I did this once and almost lost the airplane. The tail shot up well ahead of the nose and I was lucky to keep it from going in. Won't do that again............
