I'm sorry your having trouble's, I know computers can be frustrating. Maybe try reinstalling it and see what happens, I have it running on my XP machine at home.
I was missing F4 in my kit and that is how I got the template to cut one. If you get it to work the next chore will be to get the percentage right to print it.
