First , make sure your receiver battery is good. When the failsafe is and the receiver battery is to low it will activate the failsafe.
I had this problem and it was a low battery charge.
I also had a range problem and sent it to Radio South and they found a shorted4.7uf choke.
They say this is not uncomon for this transmitter as it gets older.
