RE: Extreme Flight 88
I have found that limiting the cowl opening to the area directly in front of the cylinder, will direct the cooling were needed. However, I also increased the rear exit opening by openning up the bottom of the first section of the pipe tunnel and installing a 45 degree baffle to direct the air down and out of the tunnel. I think my friend relied upon the square opening in the bottom of the cowl, which likely contributed to the overheating. I also think the baffle gives a finished look to the plane. But to each his own. As long as it flies good; and it does. This Yak really is a great plane - 198 flights since February 16, 2011 speaks for itself.
